Recovered Energy is an outgrowth of the Industrial division of Lewis Mechanical & Metalworks, Inc. The resumes shown below and many of the projects shown in the Experience section of the website reflect the activities and experience gained as Lewis Mechanical. Recovered Energy is somewhat smaller and more focused but retains all the design and engineering capabilities of Lewis Mechanical.

Richard Lewis, President and Chief Executive Officer
Recovered Energy, Inc.

Mr. Lewis has over twenty years of experience in management, accounting, financial reporting, business administration, mechanical contracting and fabrication, sales and marketing, and contract negotiations both domestically and internationally. Mr. Lewis currently serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Recovered Energy, Inc. Mr. Lewis was formerly employed as a CPA for Arthur Anderson and Company, as a Vice President of Finance of D.B. Western, Inc and as President of Lewis Construction Corporation and NextPath Environmental Services, Inc. Mr. Lewis has a successful history of developing successful projects and in growing businesses from the ground up. Mr. Lewis has been directly involved in all phases of the engineering and construction of over 20 plants in over a dozen different countries. Mr. Lewis has been responsible for all phases of operations for 2 of those plants. Mr. Lewis has a Bachelors and Masters degree in accounting from Brigham Young University and graduated summa cum laude.

Kary Lewis, Chief Financial Officer
Recovered Energy, Inc.

Mr. Lewis has over 16 years of business, accounting, tax and management experience and is currently the CFO of Recovered Energy, Inc. Mr. Lewis was previously a tax partner for Deloitte & Touche LLP. In his twelve years at Deloitte & Touche, he assisted large multinational companies with international mergers and acquisitions, developed tax planning strategies and structures to minimize worldwide taxes and evaluated business opportunities for international expansion. Mr. Lewis left Deloitte & Touche, to join his family business, Lewis Construction Corporation, as a Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. His responsibilities at Lewis Construction Corporation included banking relationships, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and tax planning, and he was also involved in operational and new business development aspects of the company. Mr. Lewis is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors degree in accounting and a Masters degree in taxation.

Gary Chandler, Controller
Recovered Energy, Inc.

Mr. Chandler is currently the Controller and Management Information Systems Manager for Recovered Energy, Inc. Mr. Chandler brings over 25 years of management experience as Controller, Administrative, MIS and Financial Director. Previously he served as controller for Lewis Mechanical and Metalworks, Inc. and as Director of Finance and Management Information Systems for Oregon Child Development Coalition and CFO of Tualatin Valley Mental Health Center in Portland, OR. Mr. Chandler has extensive background in computer and information systems development and implementation with ADP Information Systems. He has directed the design, development and implementation of numerous computer software packages and web sites. Mr. Chandler has a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Operations Management.

J. Paul Bastian, Vice-President Engineering
Recovered Energy, Inc.

Mr. Bastian currently serves as the Vice President for Recovered Energy, Inc. in charge of engineering and new product development. He has been a key player in the development of oil/water separation systems and REI's Recovered Energy SystemTM. Mr. Bastian is a registered Professional Engineer with over seventeen years of experience. Mr. Bastian is licensed to practice in the states of Idaho, Oregon and Nevada and has had a broad range of experience including civil, structural, environmental, geotechnical, materials engineering and expert testimony for a variety of engineering projects. Mr. Bastian served as the engineering manager for Lewis Construction Corporation and NextPath Environmental Services, Inc where he managed engineering and construction projects for process plants and equipment and developed new technologies and equipment. Prior to joining Lewis Mechanical, he was a division manager for Kleinfelder, Inc., a large multinational engineering firm. Mr. Bastian has been a senior manager responsible for design, quality control, project development, conflict resolution, loss prevention and marketing. Mr. Bastian is an officer in the U.S. Navy and a graduate from the Civil Engineering program at Brigham Young University. He has completed a number of post-graduate courses and provided independent research at the University of Idaho.

Barry R. Lewis, Vice-President Instrumentation and Controls
Recovered Energy, Inc.

Mr. Lewis has over twenty-five years of experience in designing, engineering, installing, programming and starting up control systems. Mr. Lewis currently serves as the Vice President in charge of Instrumentation & Controls for Recovered Energy, Inc. where he has applied his skills to the development of new products and services including the development of REI's Recovered Energy SystemTM. Previously, as a control engineer for Lewis Mechanical and NextPath Environmental Services, Inc., Mr. Lewis designed and installed the control systems for 4 complete chemical plants. Previously, Mr. Lewis worked with Westinghouse and other nuclear startup companies as a nuclear technician for 14 years. In that time, Mr. Lewis participated as an instrumentation technician and engineer during the startup of four commercial nuclear power plants.

David C. DeCato, Project Manager
Recovered Energy, Inc.

Mr. DeCato has 23 years of supervision, engineering, and management experience in a wide range of fields including; mechanical, electrical, production, facilities maintenance, and construction projects. Now with Recovered Energy, Inc., Mr. DeCato's skills and experience are being applied to new and exciting projects such as REI's Recovered Energy SystemTM. During the last 10 years, while at Lewis Mechanical and NextPath Environmental Services, Inc., he was instrumental in the design, fabrication, and project management of several multi-million dollar projects. Mr. DeCato was project manager for the manufacture of (16) 45-ton rotary briquette presses. The 14 million-dollar briquette project was completed in a 6-month time period and was highly profitable. Mr. DeCato was the Field superintendent and technical advisor for installation of a 5 million-dollar chemical plant in local. During the last two years, Mr. DeCato has served as the R&D manager developing Oil/Water separation and other environmental technologies. Mr. DeCato has a proven capability to develop and complete projects.

INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS

Daniel Skinner, Project Manager

Mr. Skinner has fifteen years experience in the construction and fabrication industries. Mr. Skinner was the Project Manager for Lewis Mechanical for a total turnkey project in Australia. Later he was the Project Manager for a plant for the same customer in South Africa. He worked for Raytheon Company as an Estimator, Production Engineer, Field Engineer, Lead Office Engineer and Project Manager. At Raytheon he played a key management role on a $262 million construction project prior to joining Lewis Mechanical in August of 1998. Mr. Skinner is currently working as an independent contractor for another company until REI has a large project for him. Mr. Skinner earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Idaho State University.

Pablo E. Carbajal, Electrical and Controls Design

Mr. Carbajal is an electrical engineer with over 18 years experience in industrial projects, mainly in the chemical, pharmaceutical and engineered wood industries with responsibilities as project manager and in the field of instrumentation and controls. Specifically, he managed the construction of an MDF (medium-density fiberboard) and a formaldehyde plant in South America, projects with a total budget of USD $35 million. He also managed the electrical and automation engineering for sterilization plants for Johnson & Johnson worldwide and for formaldehyde and resin plants built in Greece, Indonesia and Australia. Mr. Carbajal received his electrical engineering degree from the University of Buenos Aries, in Buenos Aries local.

Carl King, Project Manager

Mr. King has over thirty years of experience in project development, engineering design, construction management and operations of fossil fueled combustion and gasification energy production facilities throughout the world. Mr. King has a Bachelors and Masters degree in engineering, has published technical papers and has served as an expert witness on environmental and thermal emissions issues. As a registered Professional Engineer licensed to practice in the states of Nebraska and Texas he has a broad range of experience in geotechnical, civil, mechanical, electrical and environmental engineering disciplines. Mr. King has been responsible for community relations; environmental, construction and operating permits negotiations; selection and management of equipment vendors, fabricators and constructors; and negotiated utility interconnection and energy sale agreements. In addition, his technical knowledge and experience extends to design of gasification systems, fuel feedstock preparation, combustion processes, direct fired steam boilers, steam turbine generators, gas turbines and I.C. engines, process water conditioning and potable water distillation. Mr. King owns an environmental engineering firm, LC2 Consulting Engineers, Inc. LC2 specializes in municipal solid waste project development, permitting and implementation for both public and private clients. Mr. King worked for NextPath for one year during the development stage of the technology. He is ready to become a project manager at the time the appropriate project is in place. Mr. King formerly served as Operating Manager and Divisional Vice President for Stantech Engineering, Inc. He has also been employed by Waste Management of North America, Waste Management Energy Systems, Morrison Knudsen and The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company.

Jack Morris, ASME Quality Control Manager

Mr. Morris has over forty years of design, engineering, quality control and management experience in the area of ASME Code pressure vessels. Previously, Mr. Morris was the Quality Control and Engineering Manager for Lewis Mechanical & Metalworks, NextPath Environmental Services, Inc and Raytheon. He has also served as a General Manager for Sho-Ban Steel, Vice President for Western Fabricating, Engineering Manager for Wellman Industries and as the Chief Draftsman for Burgess Industries. Mr. Morris holds memberships with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Welding Society and is an AWS certified welding inspector (certificate #92050781).
